After forty years of running a pet store in Pittsburgh, Allen decided to retire. In this choice he passed the keys to a young local animal expert. Sara took over the store and has transformed the space into the modern market.
The process started with a custom typeface named Explorita. The brand was meant to be playful and dynamic which allows these exotic animals to feel more approachable. Since the store specializes in both pets and plants the identity needed to reflect this. The logo combines the forms of a leaf and a frog foot.
After the store went through a remodeling stage there was an opportunity to create a buzz for the opening. Flyers were placed around town, business cards were handed out and posts were made on social media. Within the store there are informative brochures on each specific animal so that the new pet owner would have all the necessary information. Throughout the store there is signage that can be changed easily to adapt with the revolving pet inventory.
